Sustainability

Children become interested in sustainability when adults teach them how important it is. However, young children often observe environmental problems on their own. Early childhood educators can help children respond to these problems. They can teach children good habits for life and also support children to be environmental advocates.

Sustainability links with children's agency. They have a right to be heard and to make choices and decisions about issues that influence their world.

The educational benefits of sustainability include environmental awareness.

The Interest Forest

The Interest Forest was created by a small team of Australian early childhood teachers. We believe in less paperwork and more play.

We have collected hundreds of children's interests, linked to the EYLF, to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of your program. We hope you enjoy exploring our Forest of interest topics.
